The University at Buffalo SUNY School of Engineering was established in 1946 as a part of the State University of New York system. It was initially called the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and it had only one degree program: a Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Over the years, the school has grown to become one of the leading engineering schools in the country, offering six undergraduate degrees and 12 graduate degrees in various areas including computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering and aerospace engineering.
