Engineering schools in Alaska offer a variety of educational opportunities for aspiring engineers. The University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) and the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) both offer engineering degree programs, including Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Computer Science. UAA also offers a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. The University of Alaska Anchorage has been accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET since 2007. UAF is accredited by the same organization since 2008. Both universities provide students with hands-on learning experiences through internships and research projects, as well as access to state-of-the-art facilities and laboratories. Engineering students in Alaska benefit from the many resources available throughout the state, such as the Alaska Center for Energy & Power (ACEP), which provides education and research opportunities related to energy production and utilization; or the Arctic Region Supercomputing Center (ARSC), which develops high-performance computing applications for Arctic regions.
