Texas A&M University Kingsville Frank H Dotterweich College of Engineering was established in 1966 and is one of the oldest engineering colleges in the state of Texas. It was initially named the South Texas State College Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences, and it was the first post-secondary engineering school in South Texas. It was renamed to its current name in 1971 when it became part of Texas A&M University Kingsville.
