According to itypemba, Pinal County, Arizona is located in the south-central part of the state and is home to over 450,000 people. The county was established in 1875 by an act of the Arizona Territorial Legislature and named after a local Native American tribe. The area was originally inhabited by several Native American tribes, including the Pima, Papago, Maricopa, Tohono O’odham and Akimel O’odham. In 1877, Pinal County became one of the original four counties of Arizona Territory. During this time, mining became a major industry in the area as settlers sought to find gold and silver deposits in the county’s mountains. The Apache Junction Unified School District serves the city of Apache Junction and has eight schools in its district. Ray Unified School District consists of four schools that serve grades kindergarten through eighth grade in the community of Ray.
