Mississippi State University’s Bagley College of Engineering was founded in 1908 as the Industrial Institute and College. The college began with only two departments, the Department of Mechanical Arts and the Department of Applied Science. Since then, the college has grown to include seven departments and over sixty degree programs. The college has seen tremendous growth since its inception, and today offers a variety of undergraduate, graduate, and certificate programs in engineering disciplines such as mechanical engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, civil engineering, petroleum engineering, chemical engineering and biomedical engineering.
