Beaches in Goa belong to the state, and not a single hotel has the right to deny access to them to local residents – fishermen, fruit and souvenir sellers, sometimes very annoying. Only the best 4 and 5 star hotels provide their guests with the opportunity to use their services on the beach, including free umbrellas, sunbeds and beach towels (usually pool towels). Hotels of 4-star category and below, especially in the northern part of Goa, located far from the beaches, do not provide such services to their guests, and towels from the room are not allowed to be used on the beach. But almost all beaches have local cafes – shaks (or shacks – shacks), where foreign tourists and local vacationers, those who ordered food and drinks, of course, are provided with places under beach umbrellas near the cafe. The owners of most of these shaks are very hospitable and friendly, many can even speak a little Russian. For those tourists who do not want to order anything in such a shak, a sun lounger under an umbrella can be rented – from 150 to 200 rupees per day. However, it is better to take a couple of beach towels for such beaches from home (however, you will have to use the services of a paid laundry at the hotel).
