The College of Engineering at Idaho State University was founded in 1967. It was initially known as the School of Applied Sciences and Technology, and offered degree programs in Mechanical, Electrical and Civil Engineering. In the early 1970s, the school began to expand its curriculum to include Computer Science and Industrial Technology. In 1984, the College of Engineering was fully established with an increased focus on developing research opportunities for students.
