The Clemson University College of Engineering and Science was established in 1893 as the South Carolina College of Agriculture and Mechanical Arts. It was the first public college in South Carolina to offer a degree in engineering, and it has since expanded its offerings to include degrees in computer science, bioengineering, and materials science. The college is located on the main campus of Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina. It is comprised of seven departments: Biomedical Engineering; Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering; Civil Engineering; Computer Science; Electrical and Computer Engineering; Materials Science & Engineering; and Mechanical Engineering.
